Sarah Covington

Covington House had a history going back to the civil war but is got much more complicated in the following century as possession of it passed from family member to another family member through tragedy and redemption.

Sarah lay on the grass facing Ethan and said, "I love you." Tears welled up in Ethan's eyes as he looked at Sarah.  "I love you, too, Mom," as he covered his eyes with his arms.  When Sarah reached out to touch his arm he truned to her and said, "I told God that if He let Dad live, I'd be a better son.  He never answered that prayer."

She combed his hair with her fingers and said, "Your father had a heart attqack the morining he came out to the chicken coop to get eggs for breakfast.  I think if your father hadn't died when he did, he would have been an invalid for the rest of his life.  I had a stroke when I found your father lying on the chicken coop floor."

Ethan said, "Maybe if we moved, your aneurism would stay here."

Sarah sat up corsse-legged next to him and said, "I wish it were that easy."
