Overview

Farum, Land of Trolls and Giants, has declared war on the Kingdom of the Muldred. Zephyrus is a foreigner Magus fighting for Muldred. He enlisted to protect his lover Absalom, a Knight of Muldred.
As a knight, Absalom is dutybound to protect his country. Absalom feels a lot of guilt for dragging Zephyrus to a frozen, hostile country. He doesn't understand why he inspires so much devotion from a man that he has often treated as his plaything.
The book also tells the story of the family that Zephyrus left behind. His mother and son don't understand why he chose to fight for a King and Country that is not his own. They think him a fool for enlisting just to protect the life of a man that doesn't love him.
