Various constraints delayed the publication of the papers presented at the time but to make amends a large number of papers have been revised and iupdated Environmental science is a multidisciplinary subject and the many factors demand that specialists from many -fields should come together and co-operate. This book is the result of such academic co-operation and naturally the areas covered are diverse.

About the Author

Madaswamy Moni is a senior technocrat at National Informatics Centre (Department of Information Technology, Government of India) currently working as Deputy Director General. With more than 24 years of professional experience, he pioneered to establish the District Information System of National Informatics Centre in 27 sectors of importance. His forte is ICT Diffusion and Infusion for achieving sustainable agricultural and rural development in India. He has been propagating an integrated approach to ICT and agricultural, and rural and backward area development. He is the General Secretary of the Bhoovigyan Vikas Foundation and has written several papers and edited over six books. His research interests span over a wide area of agricultural economics and informatics, micro-level planning, regional and sustainable development, information support systems and networking, decision support system and fusion of technologies for increased agricultural productivity.

Suresh Misra is currently working with Indian Institute of Public Administration as Chair Professor Consumer Affairs. He holds his Master’s Degree in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Masters in Human Resource Management from Pondicherry University and Ph.D. from Allahabad Central University. He had his advance training in Rural Management from Development Study Centre, Rehovot, Israel. Well versed in training techniques and methodology, he has been organising a variety of training programmes in rural development and decentralized planning. Dr. Misra has written twelve books and contributed several papers in journals of repute. He has carried out several research studies and consultancy assignments. He is currently associated with the Capacity-Building of Afghanistan Civil Services in association with USAID. He is a Life Fellow of Bhoovigyan Vikas Foundation.
