As a child, he would spend most of his days with Warren and Tessabecauset his mother was sick and his dad was notorious for drinking his sorrows away, leaving Mason to care for his mom in his absence. Mason would have been lost without Warren and Tessa, but as they get older he finds himself receding into himself and growing apart from Tessa while she finds her way as a cheerleader.
