De ő sem tud segíteni: Holden a történteket egy szanatórium lakójaként meséli el.

Salinger regénye nemcsak a kamaszlélek kitűnő, hiteles rajza, hanem a társadalmi konformizmus ellen lázadó ember kudarcának is szimbóluma.
