Overview

Mr. Zweig's biography is no ordinary one. The outward events of _Romain Rolland's life are merely referred to in passing, and the narrative is kept on the high plane of his intellectual achievement. And to its fulfillment this biography of Stefan Zweig, so truly and so ardently interpretive, will be an important contribution. NEW REPUBLIC. ""A massive and luminous biographical portrait. It combines the charm of rich objective delineation with a persuasive relation of Rolland, the artist."" THE OUTLOOK. 'A brilliantly written book."" N.Y. TIMES. Illus. This title is cited and recommended by Catalogue of the Lamont Library, Harvard College.
