Overview

Rhymes and watercolor illustrations walk you through the stories of various Asian American and Pacific Islander changemakers who are largely missing from U.S. history classes and textbooks. This book intends to inspire and comfort. It was created to fill what was missing from Jasmine’s childhood; to give representation to the underrepresented and to raise the visibility of the invisible.

About the Author

Jasmine Cho was born in Los Angeles, California to parents who immigrated from South Korea. Her lived experience as someone who identifies as Asian American has been uniquely shaped by her time living throughout the country from New Mexico to Hawaii before settling in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jasmine is the Founder of Yummyholic, an online bakery specializing in custom cookies and cupcakes that taste as amazing as they look. Initially using cookie art to explore AAPI issues and matters of representation, she expanded to traditional fine art media while pursuing a degree in Art Therapy at Carlow University. Jasmine authored several articles for various martial arts magazines, but Role Models Who Look Like Me is her first children's book.
