Road to Resurrection: Meditations of Walking the Way of the Cross
From the earliest days of Christianity, faithful women and men have reflected on the events surrounding Jesus’ death and resurrection. Indeed, more than twenty-five percent of the Gospels are devoted to the last week of Jesus’ life! Holy places and holy lands have been revered in all times and places, and it is only natural that the route that Jesus walked to Golgotha should itself become a path of veneration and prayer, a way of following Jesus in discipleship, a way of taking up our own crosses, as he said we must.

Grounded in historical scholarship and practical experience, in The Road to Resurrection, G. Corwin Stoppel takes us on an imaginative journey down that road, the Via Dolorosa (the way of sadness and suffering), and guides us to its end—not the empty tomb but resurrection life. With original art by Sharyn Laughton, each station, or stopping point, offers suggestions for meditation, reflection, and prayer.
