Overview

The Road to Resilience is based on the author's life from the
time of his birth to when he turned eleven years old, but most
especially, the time he spent in the foster care system. The
author details the abuse and neglect he suffered as a child in
the hands of his foster parents which are quite horrifying, but
the book also shows the author's strength of character and
decision to triumph (and triumph, he did) over his
adversities. One of the testimonies of the author's victories
is the negation of the prediction by the doctors at the time of
his birth that he would grow up to use drugs.
The Road to Resilience is also to give voice and draw
attention to the ordeals suffered by children in foster care –
not to show that the foster care system is bad, but to
encourage the victims of abuse suffered in foster care that
something beautiful and purposeful, can still emerge from
their pain through faith and perseverance. The book is also a
wake-up call to those who run the foster care system to do
more to safeguard not just the future, but also the mental,
physical, and sexual health of children in their care.

About the Author

An Author who saw that the only way to be the change was to write about the pain and provide healing through testimony and a life-changing story. As a 28-year-old, I saw fit to change my generation for the upcoming generation.

The change we needed this time around was the testimony and reality-based therapy.
