Because the author is a leading researcher in the area of polymerase III, he has succeeded well in conveying the up-to-date information with a great perspective. The author states, "The aim of this book to review the substantial body of work that has been published concerning transcription by pol III, the largest and most complex of the eukaryotic RNA polymerases." Because this area of science is exploding with information, this book will be a good reference book to a newcomer to this area of molecular biology. This book provides a detailed review on RNA polymerase III. It will be especially useful to researchers and teachers in this area of molecular biology. Graduate students venturing in the field of transcription will also benefit by this book. The book is well organized, and the subject matter is divided into lucid chapters. Each chapter is highly condensed with information and has good quality black-and white illustrations to convey the message. Each chapter contains a large number of references. A glossary would have been a nice feature in the book. The index is sketchy. This is an excellent monograph on eukaryotic RNA polymerase III by a leader in the field.
