About the Author

Paul C. Darden is an African American male social studies teacher in The Bronx, New York. His presence in the classroom makes him one out of a small percentage of educators like him. Born in Longview, Texas, and raised in The Bronx, his educational journey began by volunteering in his community. He developed a passion for educating after being inspired by a few great teachers. He has written countless works to engage students daily with the core content. Paul struggled to find books that truly reflected his students, their struggles, their contemporary voices, or their place in history. Paul decided to write literary novels that his students quickly latched on to. The culmination of listening to student voices and time spent in his college library has resulted in a unique body of work. The work will educate and redefine the literary world for students who have not seen a true reflection of themselves in history.
