About the Author

Third-generation Homewood resident Kristine Condon was born and raised in the Chicago southland. A career educator, Dr. Condon spent her career in service to Illinois public higher education and the court system as a legal studies program director and corporate trainer before her 2020 retirement. She has continued her corporate training efforts in the next chapter of her career. Dr. Condon is actively involved in civics engagement initiatives and was responsible for the design and launch of Kankakee Community College’s Illinois Civics Academy for Teachers, an Illinois-specific civics education program for K-12 faculty, in 2016.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Homewood Historical Society, Dr. Condon has served for several years as the Society’s Membership Chair and Newsletter Editor and most recently worked to revamp the Society’s website (www.homewoodhistoricalsociety.org). Her other professional involvement includes the Prairie State Legal Services Campaign for Legal Services and the Sigma Kappa Chicago South Suburban Alumnae Chapter.
