Overview

As he truthfully recorded in his first novel, Sworn to Secrecy for Life, Charles Joseph Fickey met the woman of his dreams in the course of carrying out a clandestine mission for President Franklin Roosevelt during WW II. The young hero promised to return for Ilse. This book isfar more than the first novela closer to fact than to fiction recounting of the young mans return to Germany and his determination to find his woman.
Because he was still in the Army, and because the War was still not over, our heros movements were constrained by his work. Readers of Sworn to Secrecy of Life will find some of their old friends herein, and some of the old scenery. But one wonders how on earth, if indeed ever, the two lovers will be united. True to form, Mr. Fickeys chapters always end with the requirement that the reader turn the page to find out what happened next. Theres your clue!

About the Author

When he was seventeen years old, Charles Joseph Fickey left Morgantown, West Virginia as a handpicked recruit (by Franklin Roosevelts senior intelligence advisor) to train for a clandestine mission in war-torn Germany. Sworn to secrecy for life, his mission took him to Russia also. His book, the winner of the Best Debut veteran Book literary award, Sworn to Secrecy for Life; A Young American Spys Odyssey through War-torn Germany and Russia, is an admirable mixture of truth and invention.
Mr. Fickey has also written a book of poetry, and a collection of short stories. He now lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he is a member of the Leisure World of Maryland Writers Workshop and the Leisure World Novel Writers Workshop. He belongs to the Historical Novel Association and the Thriller Writers Association, as well.
