“Reparations USA could not have come at a more opportune time considering America's current political climate. It is almost eerily prescient in its plot lines and I loved (regrettably) its frightening realism. Extremely well-written and researched, Mr. Wyeth seems to have an innate grasp of our country's moral dilemma and angst as we near the third decade of the 21st century. Regardless of your political persuasion, I highly recommend this novel as a cautionary tale in a country that might well find itself careening into Mr. Wyeth's dystopian view of the future.”
“...it is a book that everyone should read. Many reviewers mention its humor… however, I put the book more in the category of prophecy in the vein of 1984. As a retired IT developer familiar with what computers are capable of, I realize that the conclusion of the author at the end is extremely accurate.”
“...this is an extremely well-written story that moves quickly. It is more than compelling. It is provocative and entertaining... Reparations forces the reader to engage in self-examination page after page, paragraph after paragraph. This is a fantastical story of civil disobedience born from a well-intentioned social program gone awry resulting in forced reparations and ridiculous acts of contrition for present misdeeds and acts now considered evil committed generations ago. ...Reparations is a powerful tale of what might actually happen if we simply do nothing now in the face of our scary new political reality… while, at the same time, it is also a fun romp into the worlds of rap music, over-the-top television scoops, and old-fashioned police thrillers.”
“This is set in a world not too far removed from what our society, at times, could be slipping towards. … What I enjoyed most about the book was its characters questioning their own beliefs, and sanity. If you grew up in a cult, and only ever saw the outside world through those eyes, would you know you were in a cult? If you were to grow up in a government benefits system, what happens when that system fails, or was a failure right from the beginning? ...it is quite refreshing to see a first-time author have a multi-character-driven story, set in a real world, and the only time spent away from the characters is spent on the world building, or in this case society-building.”
