Reno Failure
Everyone seems to hate President Richard Richardson. Warren Green, the smash-hit presidential impersonator, hates Richardson because Richardson denies global warming. Others hate him for other reasons. Former Vice President Dwight (Icky) Wastewater hates the President because Richardson vilified him and ran him out of town at last year's commencement exercises at Wilson University. Sometimes it seems President Richardson's only ally is Australian Prime Minister Brandon Wilson, the well-endowed womanizer and fellow-climate change denier. Now Wilson has gone missing, apparently at the macropods of 10,000 crazed kangaroos.
Kirsten Parker, an E.R. nurse at Reno's Honor Hospital and her boyfriend Dean North planned to spend the day snowboarding at Castle Peak Ski Resort and Convention Center near Truckee California west of Reno. Instead they might be spending their entire day in handcuffs accused in the disappearance of the President.
Professors Lee Wheeler Stern and Oliver Wendell Jones are on opposite sides of the global warming debate. Stern says "hot, hot, hot!" Jones says "not, not, not!" They are sworn enemies, as demonstrated by their juvenile conduct during their debate on the Mercedes Lopez show. Some day their debate is going to turn physical.
Oddly enough, CEO E.B. (Driver) White of Reno Oil Company, one of the nation's largest oil companies, has been Professor Stern's long-time patron. Whatever E.B.'s motives, his sponsorship is paying off. Professor Stern has just been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He's a shoe-in to win, unless Jones kills him first.
Join them all in Reno where "amateur sleuth" Kirsten learns that things are not as simple as they seem. Then off to Washington and Australia and to a South Seas atoll to see what really happened to the President, the Prime Minister and the former Vice President.
