Remembrance of Martin Heidegger
The greatest philosopher of our time wrote three important books that were never published in his lifetime. As his most significant achievement, they were held in safekeeping for the future ones. We are those future ones. Only now do we have the history behind us to understand what he clearly saw in the rise of fascism in the Germany of the 1930's (nihilism) within the framework of what he called being-historical thinking--that is, only now that we have our own experience of nihilism. This play is an interpretation of some of the main themes expounded in the sequestered works of Martin Heidegger, and addresses the perplexing last public statement of this great thinker--"Only a god can save us."
It was originally entitled--- "Remembrance of the Last God".
