Reining in Murder
When horse trainer Annie Carson rescues a beautiful thoroughbred from a roadside rollover, she knows the horse is lucky to be alive. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the driver. After rehabilitating the injured animal at her Carson Stables ranch, Annie delivers the horse to Hilda Colbert—the thoroughbred's neurotic and controlling owner—only to find she, too, has been permanently put out to pasture.

Two deaths in three days is unheard of in the small Olympic Peninsula county, and Annie decides to start sniffing around. She's confident she can track down the killer herself, but just because she has the skills to solve the mystery doesn't mean she's prepared for how ruthless this murderer really is.

About the Author

Leigh is a private investigator who always wanted to be a mystery writer, but real mysteries kept getting in the way.

Since 1990, she’s worked on unsolved homicides, missing persons, arsons, assaults, kidnappings, and more. Her cases have been featured on Forensic Files, 48 Hours, City Confidential, Unsolved Mysteries, America’s Most Wanted, and CBS Evening News with Connie Chung.

It was only until Leigh moved to a 53-acre farm on the Olympic Peninsula that she found the time and space to write. During her career, Leigh met hundreds of people with colorful (and often criminal) backgrounds, many of whom have been cleverly disguised to reappear (and occasionally die) in her books.

Leigh continues to live on her farm, along with horses, pygmy goats, a flock of sheep, assorted cats and dogs, and an all-female farm crew.
