About the Author

Mandy Shunnarah is an Alabama-born writer who now calls Columbus, Ohio, home. Her essays, poetry, short stories, and book reviews have been published in or are forthcoming from Electric Literature, The Rumpus, Entropy Magazine, The Normal School, Mizna, The Citron Review, Barely South Review, Heavy Feather Review, The Missing Slate, PANK Magazine, New Southerner Magazine, Deep South Magazine, Southern Women’s Review, The Dandelion Review, Talking Writing, Lifelines Magazine, and The Columbus Anthology from Belt Publishing. She has received a Best of the Net nomination for her creative nonfiction and is currently working on a memoir about her half-Southern redneck, half-Palestinian family. Mandy has been writing professionally for the past decade, which includes freelance journalism and copywriting for businesses in addition to her creative writing. She has spoken on dozens of stages doing storytelling events across Ohio, Alabama, and Kentucky, to crowds of 10 to 250, and is a regular at Story Club Columbus.
