Quit Calling Me John: 21 Insights from the Disciple Jesus Loved
Five times the Apostle John tells us in his gospel that he was the disciple that Jesus loved. Instead of submitting his name he used this title. What was this motive? Perhaps it was to suggest that his relationship with Christ was so intimate that he knew facts about Christ that none of the others knew. Phil Redding shares insights from John that no other gospel writer told. You will learn facts and theories about Christ you have never before heard or considered. For example, is it possible Jesus was crucified at street level rather than on Golgatha? Remember, the gospels never state that our Lord was crucified on Mount Calvary but at Mount Calvary. Do you know who the first disciple was? Is it possible the cock crowing does not mean what we have always considered it to be? Why was the woman caught in adultery brought forward for punishment but not her lover? These and other incidents will expand your thinking to understand God's Word in a way you have never considered before. In the end, perhaps your love and appreciation for Jesus and his sacrifice will grow.
