Reading can be taught across the curriculum. Cross curricular projects are a great way to incorporate all subjects. Students learn to read at different rates and proficiencies. Students learn differently; therefore, shouldn't each student have an individual learning plan. A project plan to ensure that each student learns at their own pace, supporting their interests and focused on each individual student's learning style. Quick Peek 2: Teaching Reading with Cross Curricular Projects will help create and use strategies/tool to ensure that each student is introduced to grade level standards, while incorporating scaffolding and enrichment activities to meet the needs of students. Deeper Learning can only occur if deeper teaching is occurring.
