Who is our enemy? How do we fight them? By what power?
We no longer have to fear about Satan and his devils and his devices that have been so thoughtfully planned out by him after his fall.
Now God, rich in his grace and mercy, has provided all benefits in Christ Jesus to become more than conquers.
But do we know these promises to contest such an enemy? Are we aware of the supernatural tactics, strategies, and abilities?
When Jesus taught the Apostle Paul about his promises that rested in God's strength that it wasn't the Roman Empire that was the enemy but an invisible enemy that needed to be addressed to the church. Paul spoke about the mercy of God, grace, and our authority and ability in Christ over Satan's legions. Paul understood what the true armor and protection was. Believing, standing, and acting on God's written word would bring the results. He wrote to the Ephesians these truths, to strengthen them, to bring confidence in Christ, to know what they have in his power, to place confidence in God, not in physical armor which they saw every day.
That the church could rest and rejoice in victory! Holding up the shield of faith, the sword of the spirit, being covered in the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation. Their loins fastened and covered by truth and feet prepared with the gospel of peace.
