About the Author

Dr.M.R.Manikantan. Principal Scientist, ICAR-CPCRI has 24 years of professional experience in Agricultural Engineering. He has published 64 research papers in both national and international peer reviewed journals as well as published 18 technical popular articles, 26 technical bulletins/manuals and 11 book chapters. He has edited two books and presented about 70 research papers in various national and international seminars, conferences, and symposiums. He has so far developed 12 technologies/equipment process protocols in the field of food grains and oilseeds processing nanocomposite technology, microencapsulation and bioga technology. He has guided 16 undergraduate and 8 post graduate students at various government and private institutions. He was awarded TNAU Mer Scholarship and CSIR Fellowship during his postgraduate and doctoral study. During the period of 2013-2018, he was instrumental in transferring about 12 ICAR-CPCF developed technologies to 110 entrepreneurs.

Dr. Pallem Chowdappa was born on 15th May, 1957 in Enugudanlpalle village of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh from where he obtained his school education. He did B.Sc. from Sri Venkateswara College, Tirupathi in 1978. He received M.Sc.in 1980 from Sri Venkateswara University. Tirupathi PhD in 1985 from Mangalore University, Mangalore, Karnataka and post-doctoral research at CABI Bioscience, U.K. He joined as Scientist-S1 in 1985 at Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod, Kerala, and was elevated to Principal Scientist in 2006 at Indian Institute of Horticultural Research. Bangalore. Dr. P. Chowdappa served as Scientist-in-Charge. Central Plantation Crops Research Institute Research Centre, Hirehalli and Head. Central Horticultural Experimental Station, Hirehalli from December, 2000 till April, 2006. He became Director. Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod in September, 2014.
