David L. Adamy is president of Adamy Engineering and previously worked as Senior Systems Engineer/Program Manager for ESL/TRW in Sunnyvale, California. He received his MSEE in Communication Theory from the University of Santa Clara, and his BSEE from Arizona State University.

Adamy, an electrical engineer and experienced speaker, here revises his first edition, for which he notes no date, to account for the general technologies now available to help technical speakers. He avoids discussing specific technologies, however, because they change so fast. He stresses that good speaking requires practice, respect for the audience, and telling the audience what they came to learn in a language they can understand and visual aids they can read.
