Chapter One

Welcome, Easter!

The sleepy flowers are waking up. The birds are beginning to sing again. It must be spring! Signs of God's love are everywhere in spring — the warm sunshine, the colorful flowers, the tiny bunnies. Soon we get to enjoy Easter Sunday with our families. Every Easter we celebrate a gift God gave us many, many years ago. He showed us His love in an extra special way.

The Father has loved us so much! He loved us so much that we are called children of God. And we really are his children. — 1 John 3:1

We love because God first loved us. — 1 John 4:19

Thank You, God

We thank You, God, For happy hearts, For rain and sunny weather. We thank You, God, For springtime flowers And that we are together.

The Lord is all I need. He takes care of me. — Psalm 16:5

Spring

The little birds fly over, And oh, how sweet they sing! To tell the happy children That once again 'tis spring.

And buttercups are coming, And scarlet columbine, And in the sunny meadows The dandelions shine.

And just as many daisies As their soft hands can hold The little ones may gather, All fair in white and gold.
