Overview

Plant Anatomy is the branch of science, under, which we study the structure and functions of the plants. Plant Anatomy includes the study about structural aspects of seed germination, photosynthesis, respiration, hormone functions, mineral plant relations, water plant relations, etc. In all changes from the seed to the fruit stage, a large number of diverse and complex processes are involved. As we know, green plants fill the basic needs of human beings and other creatures-food, fibres for clothing, timber for housit1, oxygen for ,respiration, etc. These plants are not only the ultimate source of food but also supply the raw materials for many of our basic industries. About the Author

Dr. Debashis Guha, teaches Ethics and Phenomenology and Existentialism in the Post Graduate Department of Philosophy, Ranchi University, Ranchi. After doing masters course in Philosophy from Delhi University in 1980, he was conferred the Ph.D. degree of Jadavpur University in 1988. Dr. Guha takes interest in Philosophy of Religion, Social and Political Philosophy Philosophy of Science and Analytic Philosophy. He taught at the undergraduate level in a constituent college of Ranchi University from 1981 to 1989 and was then asked to serve the Post Graduate Department. Dr. Guha is teaching Ethics for twenty-four years. He was awarded the Visiting Associateship of the U.G.C. (1994 96) in Jadavpur University, Calcutta, when he worked out An Inquiry into the cases of Pain and Suffering, which awaits publication. He was further awarded U.G.C.'s Major Research Project (19972000) on Applied Ethics in Indian Context, which has been now shaped in Six volumes, of which the present work is the fourth one under the series: Practical and Professional Ethics. Dr. Guha has fifteen papers to his credit. He has presented philosophical papers in different Seminars, Symposia and Congress, two of them were presented in International Congress; one in the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Indian Philosophical Congress, 2000-01, and the other in the XVth International Congress of Aesthetics in Tokyo, Japan in 2001. During his Major Research Project work, Dr. Guha has talked to many people from different walks of life, interviewed them and also arranged ethical dialogues leading to resolution of value-laden practical problems of urgency. Dr. Guha envisions peoples' participation in Practical and Professional Ethics.
