About the Author

Keith Leyva lives and writes in San Diego, California, where he has resided for nearly four decades. He has lived in various places in East County, including Jamul, Potrero, La Posta and Jacumba. An avid nature enthusiast, he enjoys mountain biking, rock hounding and exploring the back country and desert regions around San Diego and as far as Nevada and Utah.
A dyed-in-the-wool Deadhead, he started attending shows in 1989. His father, Steve, has been inspiring Keith’s listening habits since 1973, and Keith has been putting up requests for Truckin’ ever since.
Keith has been married to Jennifer since 2010. They have enjoyed many travels together, visiting places as far as Tanzania, Curaçao, Costa Rica, Playa del Carmen and many more. Together, their family consists of a selection of cats, a dog, chinchillas, snakes, lizzards, fish and more.
He graduated from San Diego State University with an emphasis on creative writing in 1991, and worked in digital graphics serving tradeshows over twenty-five years, until the COVID-19 pandemic.
