About the Author

Verna Mull was born on a farm at Wessington Springs, South Dakota, on May 21, 1931. The youngest of four living children, the family moved to Iowa in 1936 due to the drought of the dirty thirties.
Vernas parents rented a farm near Marble Rock, Iowa. Verna started school when she was six years of age. She attended the school in Marble Rock for ten years, when her parents purchased a farm near Greene, Iowa. At that time, her parents sent her to a Christian school in Wessington Springs South Dakota, where she graduated and met her future husband.
Verna had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of thirteen, and often expressed her love for her Savior by writing poetry. She loved to read, and her favorite book was Elsie Dinsmore, which her mother read to her many times when she was young. It always seemed easier to express her true feelings in writing poetry, and often what she wrote would just pour into her mind. Special family occasions often brought poetry to mind, just as studying Scripture did.
Verna has published a childrens book, The Best Christmas Ever, originally written for her Great grandchildren in hopes of impressing them of the Christian value of sharing. Her greatest desire is to make Jesus Christ known in the entire world. She and her husband have made eleven short-term mission trips to Ukraine and hope to be able to continue as long as God gives them strength.
