Poems
My book Poems was written and so titled because there was no other title deemed to be more appropriate than Poems. Poems means an arrangement of words written or spoken, and I want my words to arrange someone's lifestyle with hope and encouragement. My writings envelope many different manners of people's emotions, and it seemed appropriate to not give it another name.
How can this book help you? Males and females who are struggling and trying to find some meaning in their lives or dealing with the cares of this world need something to hold onto and give them hope. It is also for those who love to read.

About the Author

Shirley McDaniel is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State university in Nacogdoches, Texas with a Master of Arts in Counseling. She taught Special education and coached basketball in Laneville ISD in Laneville, Texas. She has two grown children. A girl and a boy. She is currently residing in Henderson, Texas with her husband, and she is working as the school counselor at Carlisle ISD District in Price, Texas.
She dedicates herself in providing guidance and counseling to students as well as to teachers who are having a difficult time in the classroom. She loves guiding students in making academic and life changing decisions that can impact them mentally and socially.
She became interested in writing poems as a teenage and knew in her heart that this was a gift from God. Her love of God along with his spiritual gifts in what enabled and drove her to help others through Sher teaching, counseling, and writing poems. These poems were written from Shirley’s experiences inspired by God. She believes in the power of words which can help or hurt others; therefore, she uses her words to bring hope, meaning, and encouragement to someone who may be having a difficult time in life or is trying to make life adjustments. The poems may also be read for enjoyment. She wants to share her emotions and experiences with others.
These poems are to be read slowly, in a quiet place, and with conviction of “Yes, I understand or yes, I can.” Remember our words should be helpful and encouraging to one another.
