About the Author

John Michael Ryan grew up and continues to live in the Skaneateles, NY area. Yes, Syracuse University is our Basketball team. As a child and teen, my passion was fishing and hunting. I think it rubbed off on our son. Now my first choice is to shoot with a camera. I have been married to Christine for 30 years. We also have a daughter and I am trying to get her to help me with my next book idea. I am an Engineer by trade in the medical products field. I have been working in Engineering for 28 years. I’ve written a lot of documents on how to assemble or test parts. Times change, so must I. This is my first document for others to enjoy. It has been a blast creating it.

During this trip we stayed in Ketchikan on the first and last nights. On the last night I was watching the thousands of guest moving on and off the cruise ships. I thought to myself about how they are missing so much of Southeast Alaska. And that is when the idea to publish this book started.
