About the Author

Yusef Komunyakaa's twelve books of poetry include Taboo (Palgrave Macmillan), Dien Cai Dau, and Neon Vernacular (both Wesleyan), for which he received the Pulitzer Prize, and most recently Warhorses (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux). He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the William Faulkner Prize (Universite Rennes, France), the Kingsley Tufts Award for Poetry, and the Poetry Society of America's Shelley Memorial Award. A forthcoming collection of poetry, The Chameleon Couch, will be published in 2011 by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux. He teaches at New York University.
