Derek Walcott is among the most distinguished contemporary poets in the English language and a recipient of the Nobel Prize for literature in 1992. He is the author of El testamento de Arkansas, Omeros, and White Egrets, which won the T.S. Eliot Prize in 2011, among other books of poems and plays.
