Overview

What do you do when your life keeps falling apart?

This novel tells the story of Logan Wood, a teenager who moves to a small town in Arkansas after his
parents' disappearance. He now lives with his adoptive father Jared Harrison, a wealthy lawyer with a
troubled past of his own. As Logan interacts with the colorful cast of characters at Deer Hills High, he
makes quite a few friends, as well as his fair share of enemies.

As the school year comes to an end, Logan joins his new friends for a day of playing video games. The leader
of this ragtag group of friends decides they should play a new virtual reality game called Seventy Five Lives.
The game's developer, Alpha Softworks, promises two things. It was created with
innovative technology, and the new system only requires one game to give players a lifetime of entertainment.
But as the group explores each level, they are faced with strange events and catastrophe, and soon discover
that this "innovative technology" may be more sinister than meets the eye.

About the Author

Lauren Motley began creating characters and writing short stories at a young age, and made
her first attempts at writing a book at the age of twelve. She was born and raised in the state of Arkansas,
and at an early age had a fascination with video games and the written word. This, along with a wild
imagination and games with wonderful friends in the cul-de-sac where she grew up, eventually led to the
creation and development of Player 767.

Early drafts of Player 767 were created while Lauren attended high school and the final manuscript was
completed in June 2021, the summer before her graduation at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. When
she’s not writing, you can find Lauren spending time with her family, her friends, or her pug. You may also catch
her fighting dragons, arguing with video editing software, driving tractors, and hitting trees with sticks to
prepare for her next martial arts class.
