About the Author

Rebekah Phillips Spencer is a graduate of The Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and has won many academic achievement awards for her paintings as well as the “MCC Diversity in Painting Award”. She has worked as an art instructor at The DARTI institute in CT as well as curator for The Apsara Boutique and Gallery in South Windsor Ct. Her work is in numerous private collections throughout Connecticut and has been shown at The Cooley Gallery in Old Lyme Ct. Also a published songwriter, (under the name “Bek Phillips”) she has recently turned her attention from writing songs to writing and illustrating children’s books, as well as working with fellow musicians to write stories supporting their various charities. “Piper was Afraid” is the first published book of seven in her series. She has illustrated numerous books for other authors including working on Kim Cameron’s series “Seaper Powers”
