About the Author

When she was ten, Jo Lisa accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Shortly after that she realized that what her step-father was doing to her during bedtime prayers was wrong. She struggled to fit the picture of the happy family amidst sexual and emotional abuse. Her struggle led her down a dark path of self-destruction. She eventually became suicidal. After attending a church service and crying out to God for help, her house was raided by the police. That was the beginning of her journey overcoming the past and having a healthy, happy life. Her life became a testimony of God's unfailing love and grace.

Jo Lisa has been a development professional for many years. After a successful career raising funds for a pregnancy resource center, she is now on the team at a non-profit organization that works to end child sex trafficking and bring hope to survivors.
