PIECES OF STONE
The bonds of family and friendship are strong in the little community of Clare, Michigan. Everyone knows everyone--or seems to. Despite living in Clare since high school, thirty-six-year-old Emma Simms never lets her guard down long enough to build a connection with many in the small town.
Left to raise her younger sister after their mother's death due to an overdose, Emma is an expert at creating walls and maintaining boundaries to protect her heart. Even now, the successful author takes refuge inside closely guarded emotional walls, completely unaware they are about to be blown to pieces.
Emma believes she's relegated her demons to the past. But when a dark stranger comes to town, kicking off a devastating string of events, Emma realizes that not all demons stay in the past--at least not for everyone.

About the Author

L. M. Kaye spent more than twenty years of her career working in a locked psychiatric hospital helping patients return to their optimal level of functioning. These experiences were invaluable and gave her good insight into people's motivations for their actions. She has seen, firsthand, how the mind can be our worst enemy, sometimes causing more pain than the outside world could ever inflict.
Kaye lives in Michigan with her family. She is thankful for them every day and knows all too well not everyone is as fortunate as she is.
