Overview

Pic is a small, Black child from North Carolina who, upon his grandfather and caregiver’s death, is taken by his brother from his aunt’s dysfunctional home to live with him in New York City. Once there, Pic witnesses his brother’s hardships after he loses both his jobs in one day and must send his pregnant girlfriend to live with her sister in San Francisco. The brothers must then hitch and bum their way across the country to reunite with her.
