I felt like I knew the characters in the book and like I was in the scene because of John's character and scene development. I also liked the incorporation of philosophy throughout the plot, more specifically some monologues by main characters that really drove home the complexity of these issues in reality. I look forward to reading more of John's books because not only is it style creative and interesting but his focus creates space for me to contemplate my own perspective on these issues.
