About the Author

Sir James Matthew Barrie (1860-1937) was a Scottish playwright and novelist. While his most popular creation, Peter Pan, eventually overshadowed almost all of his other work, he is regarded as one of the greatest Scottish-born writers. A man of good nature, before his death he signed the rights of Peter Pan over to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, which continues to benefit them.
