Overview

When Camellia arrives in the town of Sunfleur, she quickly befriends a group of other fairies who live in town. All seems well, until they meet a group of bullies called Thistles. The eight girls tumble into a world of fear. How can you defeat an enemy that works best when nobody is watching? Meanwhile, young Lotus is destined for greatness...and loneliness. Trapped in her family's luxurious mansion, she soon finds that there is hope for her, and she meets this group of fairies. In the end, will they defeat the Thistles or will they spend the rest of the year being tormented?

About the Author

At the time of writing Petals on a Flower, Luke Montemayor was 14 years old and in eighth grade. He began his writing career in third grade and has been enthusiastically writing ever since. Luke lives in the Kansas City area with his family and is constantly aided by his twin brother Nate and older sister Rachel. In addition, he is an aspiring artist who has worked under the instruction of art teacher Katherine Walls, who is a huge inspiration for him. He plans to write an eventual sequel to Petals on a Flower.
