About the Author

Tim has thirty-one years of experience as a high school teacher, administrator, and coach including twenty-four years teaching financial literacy. He was also adjunct faculty at Alma College teaching Social Studies Methods and Macroeconomics for eighteen years. His extensive involvement in curriculum and assessment includes establishing state standards, developing curriculum and creating social studies assessments for five different state examinations. His numerous teaching awards include Sallie Mae Top 100 First-Year Teachers in the United States, Michigan Social Studies Teacher of the Year, Michigan Economics Teacher of the Year, Alma College Favorite Teacher Award, and Regional Semi-Finalist in the NASDAQ NCEE National Teaching Awards. He has served on numerous boards and committees dealing with education, finance, and philanthropy. Tim is currently the Director of Education at Budget Challenge.
