Overview

Eric Esor, a former Federal Military and Municipal Law Enforcement Agent, forensic specialist, and investigator, following severe on-duty injuries, is forced to change careers.

Eric learns that his sixteen-year-old daughter, Briana, was raped. Briana's protection from the "boogeyman" is to be thin and she turns to an unhealthy peer group, an eating disorder, and experimentation with methamphetamines and is ultimately hospitalized.

For more than two years, Eric conducts a lonely hunt for his daughter's rapist. His skills pay off, but not before his efforts taint evidence which is then useless in traditional jurisprudence.

Eric Esor becomes the investigator, prosecutor, judge, jury, and must then decide if he should seek "Payback!" by being executioner.

A sequel to Payback! has been requested by many readers. BOOK TWO, "Justice Glancing", brings a challenging, awkward, and unanticipated closure in the matter of Briana's rape and for the Esor family.

Those who have already read Payback! may go directly to BOOK TWO, "Justice Glancing". If you have not read Payback!, BOOK ONE will bring you up to speed.

"Should" is the stuff of Policy and "Did" is the stuff of Procedure in support of Policy. "Justice Glancing" reflects the conflicts and dichotomies between what "should be" and what "is."

About the Author

John A. Rose, Sr. has spent his adult life helping people. He is a former law enforcement professional and an active member of the American College of Forensic Examiners International.

He earned his Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.
Following nearly fourteen years of law enforcement experience, and after he was injured while on duty, Mr.. Rose turned to a career as Executive Director of non-profit human service organizations.

Now semi-retired, Mr. Rose is busy teaching as an adjunct instructor and writing teaching modules for higher education. Mr.. Rose has been active in his community serving on a Los Angeles County School Board, President of a North American Association of Charities, a YMCA Board of Directors, and the United Methodist Church. Eric and his wife, Cheryl have served as adult leaders in both National and local youth groups.

Mr.. Rose is currently working on two fiction novels. The first is unique and entitled, "The Clock Chronicle". It is different from his usual genre of Mystery and Law Enforcement. It is a something-for-everyone book touching on Knight Templar medieval European history, 17th through the 20th century European and American history, the magic of folk tales, and the world's first pendulum clock which gains a naïve sentience the moment its pendulum swings in a perfect one second arc.

Mr. Rose's fourth work is slowly progressing and is a fiction novel. Although Fiction, it is an all-to-often true account of a veteran Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff who is falsely accused of a felony and influenced to plead nolo contendere after his thirteen year old son is threatened by attorneys.
