Humans exist in a universe and debate the existence of other universes. Our world is 13.8 billion years old; our planet is 4.54 billion years old. If there are other universes, how old might these be, and what creatures live there?
Modern humans are defined as the species Homo sapiens. These arrived on Planet Earth around 150,000 years ago. That is 13.799 billion years after our universe came into existence and 4.49 billion years after earth came to be.
This story begins after human beings inhabit Planet Earth and when aliens from another universe attempt to take over the Earth. Noble creatures from outer space kept the aliens from achieving their objective. These noble ones then devised a way for a human, the protector, carrying a unique pendant, Kalzar's pendant, to defend against future extraterrestrial attacks.
In current time, sixteen-year-old Paulinha is home from boarding school. Manuel, the eighty-two-year-old Protector of this time, is murdered and Kalzar's Pendant stolen. Unknown to Paulinha, she is Manuel's successor--she was selected at conception.
There are those who know about Paulinha--Blazar (noble) and Azar (evil). Blazar must prepare Paulinha for her role as Protector. Blazar is aware that Kalzar's Pendant is stolen, and that Paulinha needs it to have power over Azar and his warriors. A replacement pendant is somewhere beyond our universe. Paulinha must leave Planet Earth before sunrise of the day Manuel is killed.
A rebellion exists in Azar's world. One of the Rebels, Jhonatan, knows that Paulinha is the knew Protector. He and his rebellious warriors arrive at Paulinha's farm as do those faithful to Azar.
Strange creatures attack Paulinha and the farm workers. Dominic, Paulinha's Defender--she doesn't know of this--strives to find Paulinha. Maria, Manuel's Defender, owns a café. She learns of Manuel's death and the danger that awaits Paulinha. Maria convinces one of the police officers who frequents her café to drive her to Paulinha's farm.
In other parts of Brazil, evil creatures take over human being's bodies. Doctors from Brazil and the USA are convinced the humans suffer from an unknow disease and put these unfortunates in isolation.
Paulinha, unaware of where she must go and what she must do seeks answers from those she trusts with bad results.
Police, army, and Azar's warriors clash with Blazar's and Jhonatan's fighters. Paulinha engages, fights, learns and does all to survive. Can this millennium get to where she must be at sunrise?
