Overview

A fresh home design style with age-old character.

Patina Style celebrates the beauty that the passage of time brings to the things your life. The antique and imperfect and the slightly worn combined with natural materials and a subtle color palette create a look that is both timeless and fresh. Brooke and Steve Giannetti embrace the life in things: a newel post worn smooth by touch: a leather trunk bearing scratches of global travel; velvet that is faded over time, silver that is subtly tarnished or a flowerpot wearing a covering of moss. This is the essence of the patina design style.

The Giannettis reveal how they create the look, repurposing salvaged objects, bringing outdoor pieces inside, turning old treasures into something better than new. Lavish photography and a clear design philosophy will inspire you to see the beauty in everyday objects and to develop your own patina style.

Palette

To create the Patina Palette, we start with subtle colors that elicit a purely emotional response and then we layer in real, honest, and vintage materials that become even more exquisite with time. Intriguing and weathered colors, finishes and materials work together to create a mix of rustic and refined. We draw our palette from the landscape, as well as objects we love, to create a soothing refuge from the frenetic world. The thoughtful combination of understated natural hues and textures in our palette provides a beautiful backdrop for your life.

We like to ground larger pieces in natural fabrics and neutral colors.
