“We decided to write this book to share why we decided to create this life and what we have learned along the way. We share how we decided where to live, how to design and lay out our property and how to think about the individual spaces. One of the main nuggets of wisdom that we have learned is that there is not only one way to live this life. The idea of this book is to give you some options.”

My favorite days include a couple of visits to the veggie garden. In the morning, when the cool mist still blankets the bottom land, I drift down to the garden and scoop out holes in the earth with my hands for new seedlings. Most mornings I forgo the protection of garden gloves, preferring the sensation of the moist, cool soil against my skin. My body craves this connection to the earth. After an hour working in the garden, my mind is clear and cobweb free.
