Overview
About Path Finder
Path Finder is meant for those who have been awakened from the slumber of belief and dogma, and for those who seek their full potential. The title of this book refers to the journey to find meaning and purpose in your life, and is meant to help you gain clarity when undertaking your journey of self-discovery. It is not meant to tell you what to think, or not to think. While it will not tell you what to think, it may touch on how to think. What comes after that is up to you. Path Finder will also help you to enlarge upon your awakening, and will assist you to develop principles and practices to guide your journey. In this book there are teachings found in Christianity, Buddhism, and Sufism, as well as secular books of wisdom. I have taken freely from the words of saints, while avoiding dogma not related to those words. When awakened, you are capable of leading an intentional, committed and loving life. When awakened, you are able to do great good. When awakened, you are able to make a real difference in other people's lives. The reward will not be the keys to heaven, or even the admiration of others. The reward is power. Power over yourself. Power to choose. Power to serve.
WE LIVED IN PARADISE
Long, long ago we were just a part of the natural world. Our lives were shorter, but immensely richer. Each day we had more time with family, more time with our community, more time to be ourselves. It wasn't idyllic by any means, but humanity lived "in the moment," directly connected with the natural world.
PARADISE LOST
But paradise wasn't enough. Our ancestors sought dominion and security in this world, but our dominion became a curse to every other species on the Earth, and we have not found security in the tens of thousands of years since we invented language, agriculture and animal husbandry, and war. Nor have we found peace. We have been a species constantly at odds with ourselves and with our environment. We have poisoned the Earth. We have driven countless species to extinction and we are on track to destroy a million more. We have lived our lives inside the fantasy dreams of narcissistic and sociopathic leaders. While we live longer lives, we know no comfort or solace, only the constant state of agitation, unrest and disconnection. This cycle of failure, destruction, subjugation and despair is coming to an end, and it is now our choice where the next cycle will take us. It is up to us, you and I, and all those now awakened to undo our species' mistakes and make them right. It is up to us to create new paths for our species, a world without unfounded belief, a world built on love and compassion and a world of enlightened leaders. By our intentions and commitments we will change the world.
PARADISE FOUND
Today we face the multiple threats of global warming, pollution, species extinctions, and over-population, as well as countless other problems wrought by humanity. Path Finder examines the underlying causes for these colossal failures, and provides a framework to address them. There are paths we can take that will restore balance in nature, that will restore balance with humanity and will restore balance within ourselves. The purpose of this book may help you find your path.
RESTORATION
Path Finder is a tools that may enable you to make choices, strengthen your resolve, take action, and find a path that gives meaning to your life, and will help bring forth the restoration of balance on our loving Earth. This book will not tell you what to think, but it may show you how you think. Beyond that, it is up to you.

It will help you recognize how you can contribute to your community's well being. It will also explain how we got into this latest mess, as well as all the other crises that are facing us today. The Covid-19 pandemic is an opportunity for the human race to evolve from being a species that threatens to destroy all life on the earth to one that finds balance with the species we share the earth with, and to find balance with our own species.

Johnny Peaceseed is my pen name. In the Spring of 2003, Johnny Peaceseed was born. The name was chosen as I struggled with the hypocrisies of war, and how I might contribute to the peace movement. The name allowed me to step out of my skin, and any reluctance I might feel about standing out in a crowd. Johnny allowed me to make speeches, to write blogs, to create t-shirts and buttons and ?yers, and to become comfortable outside my comfort zone. This book again uses the name Johnny Peaceseed, only this time it refers to my intuitive mind, the true author of this book.

John is the author of the book Portraits of New Zealand Native Birds, as well as the Generic Volunteer Orientation Manual. He has written extensively on issues of injustice, the causes of war and of peace.
