Overview

"Drip-drip-drop. What is dripping? Red wine from a broken glass? Water from a broken sink? Why is it broken and how do we fix it? You are deathly beautiful and you bring the rain. Why do you bring the rain? We arch our backs and we cry for the love of you. Oh, darling, you are the deepest dancing, loveliest silverprettyone. Don’t lose us, little one. Why are you drip-drip-dropping? The rain is falling and you are the silver silver silver one for us."

About the Author

Lux Piper is a nomadic twentysomething with a pension for spectacle and melodrama. She is an indie writer, artist, and teacher who believes in the importance of the arts & in the process of creation. She loves both fine arts & pop art and has a special affinity for postmodernist literature.

Lux Piper was homeschooled as a child & developed a taste for art and literature. She read vivaciously as a child, devouring classics such as Wuthering Heights, Sherlock Holmes, and Jane Austen. She attended musicals, plays, operas, poetry readings, museums of art and history, and archaeological sites.

Through her affinity for literature, as a preteen she stumbled into the internet subculture of fandom. During her fandom years, Lux Piper ran a fanfiction academy, survived Strikeout ‘07, and was a Clive to the dear Mina de Malfois. In fandom, Lux honed her writing abilities, discovered the usefulness of criticism, and learned basic literary theory and criticism.

Lux Piper continued to encourage her enjoyment of literature and creative writing in college where she won several academic and literary awards & graduated with a BA in English. During her years in college, she continued to develop her writing abilities and discovered a love of postmodernist novels and Romantic poetry.

Currently, Lux Piper works at a grant-funded arts-enrichment afterschool program in an underprivileged rural community. She assist in running the program && teaches creative writing & magazine creation to middle school students.

In her spare time, she is an indie movie buff, reads extensively, writes & designs her own books, and creates her own graphic & mixed-media art.
