About the Author

Shafeeq Ameen, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Education and Director of Clinical Experiences and Student Services at Norfolk State University. He has spent the past twenty-five years as a classroom teacher on the elementary, middle, high school and collegiate levels at both public and private institutions through the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia State University in English, Master of Arts degree from Norfolk State University in Early Childhood Education, a Master of Education degree from Regent University in Educational Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. He has three daughters, Jahaan, Khadijah, and Maryam and currently resides in Norfolk, Virginia.
