PARENT: THE PARENT I AM AND THE PARENT I WANT TO BE
The family is the bedrock of every society. Happy families give rise to happy communities. PARENTS, addresses the necessary steps to not only build a healthy family relationship between parents but also between parents and their children.
Every Chapter of the Book is carefully designed to add new information and expertise to every parent in any parts of the world.
Societies today are going through unprecedented chaos and confusion as we have never seen or read about, families are breaking up, marriages are crumbling and in most cases children are on the receiving end of this chaos. This Book exposes readers to practical solutions.
I want to believe that most parents want the best for their children. However, there has been little or less attention given to this area of our daily lives. Our parents were not privileged to have or receive training or instructions on how raise their children. Most successful parents basically learned by "trial and error". And because we may find ourselves successful in life may not necessarily be because our parents were experts, it may be grace. However, if we parent our children the way we were parented, we may actually be abusive parents. Parents often told me that not spanking the child is a wrong governmental decision. Some parents will cite Biblical reference that if you "spare the rod, you will willy nilly spoil your child". Spanking a child is an established child abuse. Spanking a child is punishment, it is punitive and a clear violation of the child's rights, it is an abuse. As an adult have you ever made mistakes? If you as adult makes, as I do, who spanks me? When a child makes a mistake, it is an opportunity to use that situation and circumstance to redirect the child. It should be a teaching moment on the parent and a learning moment for the child.   This is why it has become very crucial that I share my years of experience providing, Family and Mariage Counseling as well as Parenting and Co-parenting programs to diverse families from diverse socioeconomic, social, cultural diversities. Every child has a destiny and it is the duty of the Parents to bring up the child the way he should go, so that when he becomes an adult, he will not depart from the great upbringing. This motivates the child as well as increase their self-worth and self-esteem.
It is my expectation that, PARENT: The parent I am and the Parent I want to be" as a Book will inspire families to gain insight to better and more effective ways of raising their children to be the best they can be for themselves, their family, the community, the country and the world at large depending on their destinies. The more we are able to expose our children to healthy, positive experiences, the better their chances to succeed in real life.
