About the Author

Mike Hollywood is the author of three editions of Papa Mike's Cook Islands Handbook, as well as two additional guidebooks, "Papa Mike's Palau Islands Handbook" as well as a Caribbean Islands Guidebook, "The West Indies on $50.00 A Day" When not scouting island locations, Papa Mike resides in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, with his significant other Anne, who's duties include, editorial assistant, proofreader and sometimes photographer, that's her photo of the traditional vaka on the cover of the 3rd edition. The family includes our dog Cricket and two cats, Jellybean and Sneakers.

Great introduction to the islands! I have been planning my Rarotonga trip for 6 months and I saw this book being recommended when I bought Tracks and Plants Guide book. This one arrived first, and when I got home from work I sat on my couch and finished the whole thing. It has great insight and ideas for your island adventure. The author offers far more detail on how to do things than the Lonely Planet Guide. If you are planning a trip to the Cook Islands, this will be a helpful guide.
