Overview

The hero of the story is an artist, a painter who have even held a private exhibition twice in his career. Now he is fifty. But come to think of it, he thinks he hasn’t achieved or fulfilled anything significant in his entire life. Worse than that, he regards his life as a complete failure. He was a painter by profession, but his artistic talents haven’t been appreciated by people for his long career. Besides, because he lacks social skills, he has had a hard time having relationships with women and customers. Thus, he’s had troubling selling his paintings to people and having a serious relationship with women. He is a proud artist, but life has always been harsh for him. Then, after he met a young woman as his pupil, his life became energized like never before. He enjoyed every moment when he was with her. So finally he thought his life has completely changed. Or has it?
